All Out At Home: My Halloween Decor Obsession, Sans the Spooky Attire
Here's a funny tidbit: Haunted houses? Not my thing. Dressing up as something gory or even slightly scary? Never happened. But give me all the creepy Halloween decor, and I'm in my element. Early this year (right at the end of September) my home was fully decked out in all of my spooky decor. Just as I was settling into the Halloween spirit, a brand reached out wanting to use my space for a photoshoot which meant taking down all my Halloween decor temporarily. The idea of decorating didn't have the same charm the second time. So, I enlisted some eager helpers: my kids. I took a step back from my usual hands-on approach and let them take the lead. The outcome was different, less orchestrated, but more genuine.
Below, I've listed some of the decor items we've used. Some chosen by me, others by them. This Halloween, it's a blend of both our tastes, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Cheers to a Halloween that’s a bit unplanned, but twice as authentic.
My custom ECHO NEON 'Boo' light was the standout piece in our decor this year. I loved that I could tailor it to my taste – selecting the size, font, color, and more. It's crafted from durable acrylic, so there's no stressing over potential breaks, and its slim profile ensures hassle-free storage. The light was swiftly crafted and delivered, much quicker than I'd anticipated. ECHO NEON also has pre-designed style for every occasion and holiday. You can see them all HERE. THESE charming ceramic ghost garlands were a delightful addition to our family room fireplace. I like to keep my home decor balanced, and these subtle ghosts were the perfect touch for the space. They added a touch of Halloween spirit without overwhelming the room with decorations in every corner.
So many of my decor pieces this year were purchased at Target for $10.00 or less. THIS BLACK RAVEN and THIS BLACK CAT were both $5.00.
I keep THESE CANDLESTICKS out year around. They are always styled in my living room but I swap out the tapered candles for different holidays. I love them and they are an easy way to decorate without being overboard.
For Halloween, I used THESE cute black hobnail tapered candles.
THIS SPIKE BOX is a decor favorite of mine and while mine stays out all the time, it is perfect for a spooky Halloween setting. I have styled this in my bookshelves but also on my coffee table to hide our remotes.
Our jumbo SKELETON, affectionately named 'Henry,' has claimed a permanent seat at our dinner table. He's been a bone-afide hit since his arrival and has yet to budge.
BLACK BUTTERFLIES became the unexpected stars of my dining area's Halloween decor. They added an air of mystique and charm that eclipsed the bat trend from 2022. I used mostly black but added a few COLORFUL BUTTERFLIES as well.
