My Favorites: Ceramics

If you know me, or have stepped foot in my house, you know I love unusual and unique ceramic pieces. Handmade ceramic works that have imperfections are the perfect addition when it comes to styling your space. My style tip—the bolder the better. I’ve put together a short list of my favorite ceramicists on my blog.

Velvet Bones

Sophie, the creative behind Velvet Bones, is literally one of the most talented women I know. Her ceramic works are the perfect accessory for anyone who wants to add an element of edge in their space. She’ll always be my number 1. You’ll see a bunch of her work I own when I do my house tour in October.

Morgan Peck

Morgan Pec

One of my interior designer BFF’s, Hillary Calvert, and I recently spent the day in LA pulling accessories for different styling jobs we were working on. We instantly fell in love with Morgan’s work at Panopolie (Panopolie is one of our favorite spots in LA. If you don’t follow the shop on IG, you need to.) I came home with 3 of Morgan’s pieces. They are so pretty!

Michell Ceramics

Michell Ceramics

When I think of Michell, I think of balls…big ones. It’s kind of her signature look. I’ve been dying to get my hands on one of her textured pieces. The 5 Ball Shallow Dish is at the top of my list. I can’t wait for a restock.

Sandbox Ceramics

Sanbox Ceramics

I am not sure if Petra, the creative behind Sandbox Ceramics, has a Swayze-esque man straddling her while she’s on her wheel, but I’d sure like to imagine she does. Her mugs and vases are to die for. She does everything from start to finish at her home studio in Oregon. She’s beyond talented.

Heather Rosenman

Heather’s pieces are big and they are bold. Not only do I want to own one of everything she creates, I also want to force her to be my friend. Her personality seems as fun and as bold as her art.

Antares/ Ay

Antares/ Ay

I never knew my 37-year-old self would ever send fan mail (well, fan email) I thought the days my fan mail correspondence ended with my love letters to Johnathon Taylor Thomas when I was a nerdy tween. Nope, just today I sent fan mail to this guy Antares. I got deep into the history of Sun at Six (one of my favorite furniture brands) and loved their story, googled their creative director and found out he also makes ceramics. His organic pieces are drool- worthy. I hope he sends me a signed 8x10 glossy, because Jonathon Taylor Thomas never did. And Jonathan, if you’re reading this, I’ll still take that glossy.
